NAVIFORCE WATCH GUIDE

Make your watch fit your everyday life

Learn how to resize a steel bracelet with a screw-type link remover, follow the steps below, and check that your watch is ready to wear.

Before you begin

This guide covers steel bracelets with removable pins and direction arrows, like the bracelet illustrated below. Bracelet designs vary by model. Screw links and other fastening systems require different tools and instructions.

Work on a clean, well-lit surface with a soft cloth underneath. Keep removed pins and links together. If you cannot identify the fastening system or feel resistance, ask a qualified watchmaker for help.

Tools you may need

Screw-type link remover

A bracelet adjustment tool with a pushing pin, sized for your bracelet’s removable pins.

Small watchmaker’s hammer

Used for gentle tapping when reseating the pin. Support the bracelet and protect its finish.

Also prepare a soft cloth and a small container for the removed parts. Tool inclusion depends on the product; this guide does not indicate that tools are supplied with every watch.

How to resize your steel bracelet

  1. Check the arrow direction

Find the small arrows on the underside of the removable links. The bracelet pin must come out in the direction of the arrow. Identify the links you intend to remove before using the tool.

  2. Prepare the link remover

Turn the screw-type adjuster counterclockwise to retract its pushing pin and create space for the bracelet.

  3. Align the pin and the link hole

Place the bracelet in the tool and align the pushing pin precisely with the hole in the link. Keep the bracelet supported and make sure the pin can exit on the opposite side.

  4. Push the bracelet pin outward

Turn the adjuster clockwise slowly. Push the bracelet pin out in the direction of the arrow until enough of it protrudes to be removed. Stop if the tool is misaligned or the pin does not move.

  5. Release the bracelet from the tool

Turn the adjuster counterclockwise to retract the pushing pin, then lift the bracelet out of the tool.

  6. Remove the pin

Carefully pull out the protruding bracelet pin to separate the links. Set the pin aside so it will not be lost.

  7. Remove the required link

Repeat the process on the adjacent pin to release the link. Remove additional links only as needed for your wrist. Work gradually and check the fit as you go; where possible, balance removal between the two sides to keep the clasp centered.

  8. Reconnect the bracelet

Bring the remaining bracelet ends together and align their pin holes. Insert the narrow end of the pin first, in the direction opposite to the removal arrow.

  9. Seat the pin and check the fit

With the bracelet properly supported, use a small watchmaker’s hammer to gently tap the pin into place until it is fully seated. Check both sides for a protruding pin, confirm the links are secure, and test the clasp before wearing the watch.

Before wearing your watch

  • Confirm that the reinserted pin is fully seated and does not protrude.
  • Check that all reconnected links are secure.
  • Open and close the clasp to confirm it locks properly.
  • Check for a comfortable fit that allows natural wrist movement without pinching.
  • Keep the spare links and pins for future adjustments.

If a pin remains loose, a link does not align, or the clasp will not lock, stop wearing the watch until a watchmaker has checked it.

Common questions

Does this method work for every Naviforce bracelet?

No. Use it only for a compatible pin-based steel bracelet. Check the construction of your model before starting. Leather, silicone, mesh, screw-link, and other bracelets can require a different adjustment method.

Which direction should I remove and reinsert the pin?

Remove it in the direction shown by the arrow on the underside of the link. Reinsert its narrow end first in the opposite direction, as shown in the tutorial.

What should I do if a pin will not move?

Stop and recheck the alignment, arrow direction, and tool compatibility. Do not force the tool. A qualified watchmaker can check the bracelet and complete the adjustment.

Can I return a watch after removing bracelet links?

Removing or adjusting bracelet links may make a watch ineligible for a return or exchange for preference or size under our return policy. This does not remove applicable remedies for a defective, damaged, incorrect, or nonconforming item. Read our Return & Refund Policy before adjusting your bracelet.
